A-Plan: Luxury Yacht Charter in the Caribbean This Winter

·4 min de lecture

Some yachts make you pause the moment you lay eyes on them. A-Plan is one of those yachts. Fresh from the Sunreef Yachts shipyard in 2025, this magnificent 80-foot sailing catamaran is heading to the Caribbean this winter — and frankly, she couldn't be better suited to it.

A luxury yacht charter in the Caribbean is, for many guests, the ultimate winter escape. Trading grey skies for turquoise water, crowded cities for deserted anchorages — it's a reset unlike any other. A-Plan makes that escape feel genuinely effortless. Her wide beam and twin-hull design deliver the kind of stability that keeps sunbathers horizontal and sundowners unspilled, even when a trade wind picks up. She's a floating villa, plain and simple.

Life Aboard A-Plan

Space is A-Plan's most immediate gift. Accommodating up to nine guests across four beautifully appointed cabins, she's ideally sized for a close group of friends or a multi-generational family — enough room to feel private, not so large that you lose the intimacy that makes a private yacht charter special. The indoor-outdoor flow is exceptional: generous saloon spaces spill onto wide deck areas and, at the stern, a large beach club swim platform that practically drops you into the sea.

The water toy collection deserves a mention of its own. e-Foils and Seabobs are not standard kit — they're the kind of toys that turn a good afternoon in a secluded bay into a genuinely memorable one. We think it's one of the best-equipped toy arsenals on any Caribbean yacht charter of this size.

The Caribbean Playground: Three Islands, Three Moods

A-Plan's winter cruising grounds cover some of the most coveted sailing territory on the planet, and each region has its own distinct personality.

The Grenadines are, in our view, the soul of Caribbean sailing. Cays that barely register on a map hiding some of the clearest water in the Atlantic, reef systems that reward snorkellers and divers alike, and a pace of life that reminds you what relaxation actually feels like. Tobago Cays, Mayreau, Bequia — the roll call alone is enough to make you reach for your passport.

The British Virgin Islands offer something slightly different: a choreography of islands and channels that makes for genuinely satisfying sailing. The Baths at Virgin Gorda are iconic for good reason, and the network of anchorages means you can spend a week here without repeating a sunset twice. A Caribbean yacht charter through the BVI is endlessly varied — and endlessly beautiful.

St Maarten and St Barths add a dash of glamour to proceedings. St Barths in particular — with its French boutiques, exceptional restaurants, and a certain effortless chic — is the kind of place you arrive intending to spend one afternoon and leave two days later. A-Plan wears these waters well.

The Crew: Two Captains, One Outstanding Team

A yacht is only as good as the people running it, and A-Plan's professional crew of four sets a high bar. Captain Ben — New Zealand-born, with over 25 years at sea and more than a decade in the Caribbean — is the kind of skipper who knows not just the famous spots, but the ones that don't appear in any guidebook. His calm, warm approach keeps every charter feeling relaxed and personal.

Captain Philip brings an equally impressive pedigree: over 50,000 nautical miles of global sailing experience, years running his own charter and resort operation, and a genuine passion for sharing the water with guests. Whether it's tracking down the best fishing grounds or finding the perfect hidden bay for a morning swim, Philip's enthusiasm is infectious.

Winter 2026/27 Availability

A-Plan is available throughout the winter season across the Caribbean, with just two weeks already committed — the peak Christmas-to-New-Year slot from 27 December to 4 January in St Maarten, and 13–20 March in the Grenadines. The rest of the season is open. If a luxury charter holiday in the Caribbean is on your agenda for this winter, now is the moment to move — weeks like these fill fast, and a yacht this new won't stay available for long.
