Day 1

Welcome to Porto Cervo

Costa Smeralda

Board from noon and be welcomed aboard with a chilled glass of champagne as the crew introduces themselves and your beautiful yacht. Porto Cervo effortlessly blends Italian glamour with laid-back cool, and the marina itself is a pleasure to wander — boutiques, terraces and the shimmering aquamarine water all around. Spend the afternoon exploring ashore or simply relaxing on deck before your first night at anchor in Porto Cervo.

Day 2

Porto Cervo — Tavolara Island

Costa Smeralda · 0 nm

Set sail this morning, rounding Capo Figari and heading south to the dramatic island of Tavolara — a great limestone massif five kilometres long, flanked by towering cliffs that rise almost sheer from the sea. Drop anchor and enjoy the first swim of the trip in crystalline waters with those spectacular cliffs as a backdrop. For the evening, the legendary family-run Ristorante da Tonino Re di Tavolara is a wonderful choice for authentic Sardinian cuisine, or let the crew serve a leisurely alfresco dinner on deck.

Day 3

Tavolara — Caprera Island

Tavolara Marine Park · 16 nm · ~2½h

After a leisurely breakfast on board, weigh anchor and sail north into the Maddalena Archipelago, arriving at Caprera — the second-largest island in the archipelago, ringed by some 45 km of wild coastline and protected as a natural reserve. Keep binoculars at hand for royal seagulls, cormorants and peregrine falcons soaring above the volcanic peaks. Ashore, a visit to the Casa di Garibaldi — the great Italian patriot's retirement retreat and now a museum and national monument — makes for a fascinating afternoon.

Day 4

Caprera Island — Bonifacio

Maddalena Archipelago · 21 nm · ~3h

Today's sail takes you north across the Strait of Bonifacio to one of the Mediterranean's most dramatic natural harbours. The medieval citadel of Bonifacio crowns towering white limestone cliffs on Corsica's southern tip, and the entrance channel through the falaises is a breathtaking experience in itself. Moor up and spend the evening strolling the ancient lanes, browsing the cafés and restaurants for the finest Corsican and French cuisine, and marvelling at the cliff-top panorama over the strait.

Day 5

Bonifacio — Isola di Budelli

South Corsica · 18 nm · ~3h

Return to the crystal waters of the Maddalena Archipelago and make for Budelli, widely considered one of the most beautiful islands in the entire Mediterranean. Head to the south-eastern shore to find the world-famous Spiaggia Rosa — its blush hue created by microscopic fragments of coral and shell — a stunning contrast against the lush, uninhabited greenery of the island. Spend the day swimming, enjoying water sports or simply basking on deck with the sea to yourselves.

Day 6

Isola di Budelli — Isola Spargi

Maddalena Archipelago · 11 nm · ~1½h

Begin the morning with a dawn swim in the perfectly clear water before a leisurely breakfast on deck — you'll quickly get used to this blissful routine. Sail gently across to Spargi and spend the day hopping between its magnificent bays: snorkel the legendary Cala Corsara, explore the hidden waters of Cala Conneri and Cala Petranera, and finally settle into the sheltered Cala Grano on the island's protected east coast for overnight anchorage. As the sun goes down, pour a glass of local wine and let the silence of the archipelago wash over you.

Day 7

Isola Spargi — La Maddalena

Maddalena Archipelago · 3 nm · ~45 min

A short sail brings you to the lively port town of La Maddalena, where Cala Gavetta marina provides the perfect base for an evening ashore. The town is full of character — explore the waterfront restaurants, pizzerias and boutiques, or seek out the ancient granite ruins scattered across the island's rugged landscape. Other bays and anchorages are available if you prefer a quieter overnight stop.

Day 8

La Maddalena — Porto Cervo

Maddalena Archipelago · 3 nm · ~45 min

Savour a final morning swim in the archipelago's luminous waters before the yacht makes its way back to Porto Cervo, arriving around midday for disembarkation. It is time to say a fond farewell to the captain and crew, and to leave with a collection of memories — brilliant blue bays, pink beaches, cliff-top citadels and star-lit anchorages — that will stay with you long after you step ashore.
